    Crawler Cleat
    The crawler cleat weighs 2,000 pounds.  Fifty-seven cleats make up each of the eight belts that pull the crawler along its path.
     
    Discovery
    Discovery Shuttle
    We were able to see Discovery from a distance because the shuttle comes out 30 days before its takeoff. There was quite a bit of publicity before liftoff.  NASA Chief Michael Griffin decided the mission was a "go"  overruling two top managers who feared foam flying off the fuel tank might harm the space shuttle.  Discovery launched successfully July 4th, 2006, making it the first one on Independence Day.
